GIE Media Inc., a leading b2b media company serving some 25 different industries through print and digital magazines, websites, e-newsletters, apps, conferences, reference books and other media platforms, today announced the launch of GIE Data Solutions. This new company is a direct result of the software systems iSirc ™ and TargetMarketIntelligence (TMI) ™ developed by GIE Media’s web development team that specifically address the needs of the publishing industry.
iSirc ™ (Intelligent Solutions for Integrated Real-time Circulation) handles all the basic functionality for print and digital circulation fulfillment and is built to work with industry standard relational databases. The scalable software functions hand-in-hand with other solutions developed or licensed from other third party providers. iSirc ™ manages both controlled and paid circulation, satisfies the requirements of 3rd party audit bureaus and performs 100% in real time.
TMI ™ is a front-end tool that connects directly to the iSirc ™ database, allowing companies to search and drill down into data. Available by license, companies have the opportunity to utilize TMI ™ to manage its own audience data, and to offer TMI ™ to clients giving them access to the audience database on a subscription basis.
“GIE Media made the decision to abandon off-the-shelf circulation software in favor of creating a much better product at a significant savings. The resulting software is powerful, scalable, and provides a superior integrated database solution, so much so that GIE Data Solutions was formed to license the software to other publishers as their audience development and circulation platform,” says Christopher Foster, GIE Media’s CEO. “We have offered TMI ™ to our clients for years, providing them with valuable insights through access to our subscriber data. The two systems together will revolutionize how publishing companies manage their audience development and circulation departments.”
Marco Urbanic will serve as the business director of GIE Data Solutions. “As part of the team who developed this software, I am confident GIE Data Solutions offers unmatched tools to the market,” says Urbanic.
GIE Data Solutions will be based out of GIE Media’s corporate offices in Valley View, Ohio.
September 29, 2014 – GIE Media Inc., a leading b2b media company serving some 25 different industries through print and digital magazines, websites, e-newsletters, apps, conferences, reference books and other media platforms, today announced that it has moved to new offices at 5811 Canal Rd., Valley View, Ohio 44125.
For several years the company has maintained two offices in northern Ohio: one in Richfield and one in Cleveland.
GIE acquired its new office building in March of this year and has been making renovations and updates to the property.
“Since purchasing the building, we’ve made considerable investments to support the technology that drives our business and provide all of GIE’s team members with a modern, efficient and productive workplace,” said Christopher Foster, company CEO. “With 25,000 square feet, the building can easily accommodate our current workforce of 90-plus while also allowing ample room for continued growth. We’re excited to bring our team members under one roof in our new, centrally located office space.”
Throughout its history GIE has continued to invest in the development of leading-edge publications for the industries it serves. As the Internet has grown, and with it the development of digital media platforms, GIE has continued to expand its portfolio through multimedia platforms, video and database management tools. “Our new headquarters office includes a green room for video production as well as the state-of-the-art networking and technology necessary to support our print, multi-media and conference businesses,” shared Foster.
Richard Foster founded GIE Media Inc. in 1980. The company began with one magazine and a staff of three in a small space above the Ohio City Tavern in the Ohio City neighborhood of Cleveland. Business quickly doubled, and GIE Media moved down the street on Bridge Avenue to a larger location that is still owned by the company.
For the second year in a row, iScrap App (Rockaway, N.J.) hosted a silent-auction fundraising event at the ISRI convention to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (Memphis, Tenn.). The "iScrap4Kids" event, held April 17 at the Mandalay Bay, raised thousands of dollars for the hospital by auctioning more than 60 items, such as an iPad loaded with scrapyard software, full-page ads in industry trade publications (including Scrap), travel packages, sports memorabilia, and adventure experiences. St. Jude seeks to find cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Above, even Elvis (Dan Sandoval of Recycling Today Media Group) found time to stop by the "iScrap4Kids" event to commend host Tom Buechel of iScrap App. - www.scrap.org
Richfield, OH – GIE Media is pleased to announce its further expansion into
risk mitigation through a partnership with Chicago Weather Brokerage (CWB).
GIE’s Ventures Inc, headed by Kevin Gilbride, was initially created to support
the GIE Media/CWB partnership in managing risk as it relates to the snow and ice
removal industry, and is now growing to include other unique partnership
GIE’s Ventures began in 2009 as a joint program with Chicago Weather Brokerage,
focusing on snowfall amounts and helping to educate snow contractors on the
risks involved with unpredictable weather as it relates to their businesses. GIE
and CWB help to alleviate the risk by offering Snowfall Options, traded on the
CME Group Exchange.
In March 2011, GIE Ventures, CWB and CME Group pioneered the introduction of
rainfall options. These options, like snowfall options, allow companies with
risk associated with high or low rainfall to manage their revenues and profits
more effectively. The new department will continue and expand to benefit
professionals in several industries that GIE’s publications serve, including
snow removal, golf course maintenance, lawn care, manufacturing, ornamental
horticulture, recycling, and pest control.
“GIE is entering areas of business outside of publishing, but that offer
tremendous value to the marketplace,” said GIE Media President and COO, Chris
Foster. “I’m excited that we can bring a product to the snow removal market that
substantially normalizes a snow removal contractors cash flow considering
weather is never normal.”
Gilbride joined GIE Media in 1996, and has been an instrumental member of the
team as a sales manager and publisher in the Lawn & Landscape magazine group. He
now oversees this revolutionary program as GIE Media’s Ventures business
“As the industry leader, GIE Media has always brought unique products to the
marketplace,” Gilbride said. “I couldn’t be more excited to lead GIE Ventures to
the same success that we’ve enjoyed with the rest of our business at GIE Media.”
