Richard Foster established Group Interest Enterprise Publishing Company with the acquisition of Pest Control Technology
magazine in 1980. Under Richard’s direction, GIE has grown from one
publication into a leading marketing and communications organization in
eight industries. His remarkable guidance through three decades of
successful expansion has given GIE Media, Inc. the solid foundation that
continues to ensure market leadership across all industries.
Chris Foster rejoined GIE Media as President & COO in May, 2005 after
spending nine years away holding senior positions with InsightExpress
LLC, the largest online market research company globally, as VP of
Technology and Product Development, and Attachmate Corporation running
the Global Network Technology Practice. Prior to that, Chris has worked
at GIE Media in various roles from Controller to General Manager, having
started with GIE Media directly out of college. He holds degrees in
International Business Administration and International Marketing from
Heidelberg, Germany.
A 30-year veteran of the pest management industry, Dan Moreland joined GIE Media in 1980 shortly after the company was launched by CEO Richard Foster. An award-winning journalist, Dan also serves as Publisher of PCT magazine’s sister publication, Quality Assurance & Food Safety. Currently publisher of PCT
magazine and executive vice-president of GIE Media, Moreland graduated
with honors from Kent State University, where he earned a degree in
Journalism with a specialty in News. He is a member of Pi Chi Omega, a
professional pest control fraternity, as well as the Press Club of
Cleveland.
Jim Keefe joined GIE Media in 1991 in a sales and market research
capacity. In 1992, he was promoted to Marketing Manager for GIE’s
recycling business and in 1993 promoted to Sales and Marketing Manager
for GIE’s media portfolio. In 1995 his focus returned solely to the
recycling industry when he was promoted to Publisher of Recycling Today
and its affiliate publications. There, Jim was instrumental in the
development and launch of Construction & Demolition Recycling, Storage &
Destruction Business, and Recycling Today Global Edition magazines. He
has also assisted in developing GIE's events business through the
formation of the Paper Recycling Conference, Paper Recycling Conference
Europe, and the C&D Recycling Forum. As electronic media has developed,
Jim has been involved in the development and launch of multiple websites
and e-news products. Currently Group Publisher of our recycling business
and Executive Vice President of GIE Media, Jim is a graduate of Ohio
University with a degree in Finance and concentration of study in
interpersonal communications.
Joe DiFranco came to GIE Media, Inc. in 2005 bringing with him over 40 years of publishing experience. His experience in sales and as a publisher in the industrial and manufacturing and design industries enabled him to launch Today’s Medical Developments which was first published by GIE in 2005. Since then, Joe has also been instrumental in the creation and development of Aerospace Manufacturing and Design (2006), Today’s Energy Solutions (2007) and Today’s Fluid Power
(2008).
