GIE Media, Inc., a b-to-b media company serving a wide range of industries, is seeking a Features Editor who will contribute to both print and digital platforms. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field, experience in print and digital content development and production and 4-8 years of media experience; b-to-b publishing experience is a plus.

Position includes, but is not limited to:

• Working primarily on print production processes to ensure magazine gets to press on time
• Working cooperatively with graphics team, providing direction and illustration suggestions
• Assisting with management of sponsored-content projects
• Proofread content
• Work with the editorial team to develop editorial plans/ongoing basis, topics, people or companies to feature for the magazine
• Working with writers, freelancers and columnists to make assignments, proof copy and fact check
• Writing cover stories, news and feature articles
• Traveling to trade shows; assisting conference division with in-person and virtual events
• Work with editorial team to continuously improve print and online products and brand strength in the marketplace
• Occasional travel to trade shows

The ideal candidate will have three to five years’ reporting and editing experience (including content and copy editing), ideally in a digital capacity for either television, daily print, or magazine(s). Familiarity with podcast production, digital content management platforms, HTML and CSS coding a plus. A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Journalism, English, PR or other related fields. Must have knowledge of good SEO practices and Google Analytics. Ability to multitask and work/thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Position includes, but is not limited to:

• Work with editorial team to steer digital editorial content for publications, across all digital platforms.
• Maintain and significantly grow presence across all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).
• Contribute several original stories per month for websites
• Oversee daily and weekly tasks, including: editing and posting press releases to conform with the publication's style, daily social media posts and weekly e-newsletter blasts
• Work with editors to further develop the digital audience through original content, web analytics monitoring and SEO reports.
• Work with sales team and advertising clients on developing and creating sponsored category newsletters, as well as other sponsored digital programs.
• Occasional travel to trade shows; assisting conference division with in-person and virtual events
• Various other tasks as assigned by the Publisher

GIE Media, a B2B media company serving a wide range of industries, is seeking an associate editor. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree as well as two to four years of experience in content development. Magazine or newspaper experience is preferred, and experience in B2B is a plus. A bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or a related field is preferred.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

• Writing news stories and features for the group’s website and print magazine.
• Editing/proofing the monthly publication, e-newsletters and digital copy.
• Contributing to social media websites and creating content for multimedia platforms (includes hosting podcasts, creating photo galleries, etc.).
• Assisting with creation of custom content for clients.
• Some travel for trade shows and other industry events is required.
