Managing Editor (Recycling Today Media Group)

Managing Editor
GIE Media, Inc., a b-to-b media company serving a wide range of industries, is seeking a Managing Editor to join our Recycling Today Media Group. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field, and 5-10 years of experience in digital and print content development as well as production. Team leadership and development experience are also required. Position includes, but is not limited to:

- help steer editorial content of the magazine
- oversee print production processes, including working with production and sales team to ensure magazine gets off to press on time
- help ensure articles and related art/photoshoots are in on time 

- develop editorial plans/ongoing basis, companies to feature for the magazine

- assign articles and columns
- content editing/all content
- work with writers and columnists to get editorial questions answered
- work with art department to help ensure images and captions and photo credits are in
- proofread all content
- work with web team to ensure accurate production of Digital edition of the magazine
- write articles as needed
- manage sponsored content/projects
- work with editorial team to continuously improve print and online products and brand strength in the marketplace
- occasional travel to trade shows

- provide weekly report to editorial director

-additional responsibilities as needed


Other requirements include: a desire to contribute to a fast-paced and collaborative team, excellent writing and interviewing skills, adaptability, creativity and strong organizational skills. ​
